Setting its sights on the future with a look that's a blast from the past describes the Softail Deluxe. Its 25.9-inch-high seat is one of the lowest on the market, giving the Deluxe extra appeal to a broad range of riders. The wide handlebar mounted on pullback risers combines with full-length floorboards to provide a comfortable, easy-going riding position. Though the Deluxe is heavy on nostalgia, its 96-inch fuel-injected engine and six-speed transmission are thoroughly up to date, including a helical-cut fifth gear for quieter running in that ratio.
Riders seeking the hot-rod-bobber look will love this bike. Stripped down, chopped and devoid of flashy finishes, the Bones is a throwback to the style of bikes that soared in popularity when GIs returned home from WWII. A blackcd-oul Springer Iront end, sprung solo saddle on a classic seat pan, round gloss-black air filter, cut-down fenders, mini apehanger bars and half-moon floorboards are just a few of the styling cues that reflect a time long past. The 96B Twin Cam engine is blacked-out with polished covers while slash-cut pipes and laced black-rimmed wheels enhance the sinister look.

One of the classic bikes in Harley's lineup, the Fat Boy, gets dunked in anti-chrome to create the Lo model. In addition to the Denim Black paint job, the frame, swingarm, outer fork tubes, air cleaner covcr and oil tank all are blacked out. The counterbalanced. Twin Cam 96B engine is powdercoated black, and the over/under shotgun exhaust has flat-black heal shields over satin-finish headers. Bullet Hole Disc cast feature black centers with machine-finished outer edges, and the rear rim is mounted with a fat, 200mm tire.
